Biography

I am a multimedia artist born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I majored in Fine Art at Santa Fe Community College and at the University of New Mexico. As my roots spread, I found my home in Denver in the summer of 2011.
Early on I was inspired by surrealist artists and poets such as Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, Federico Garcia Lorca, and Leonora Carrington. Musically I’m inspired by artists such as Kate Bush, Goldfrapp, Chris Corner, Emiliana Torrini and the expressive sounds of art-pop, avant-garde music, and electronica.
In Santa Fe, I was in a performance poetry group that mixed visual art, theater, and poetry into multimedia productions. I loved the idea of incorporating all facets of my craft into a unifying outlet. Ten years ago, I started my project “Jadugara” in which I started to apply my experience with poetry, performance, and visual art into recording art.
I always had a affinity for music, that I had been hesitant to tap into until that point. I’m glad I did, as it has opened the opportunity to work in collaboration with talented artists and has allowed me to continue in my desire to create and expand. A fruit of this collaborative sonic labor, 'Mr. Transistor' is my first official album release.
